Ross Henderson was an influential vlogger really against the growing tide of the far right. As his audience tuned in to Henderson's latest live broadcast, they had front-row seats for his savage murder. Alongside this volatile case, Detective Inspector Jake Porter finally has a lead on the hit-and-run which killed his wife. With his life in disarray, he and his partner D Nick Styles struggle to prevent full-blow riots in the wake of the Henderson atrocity. And following the trail to his wife's killer will take its toll: Porter will have to act like a criminal in order to take down the person responsible, but there's no guarantee he will come out the other side alive.

This is an eventful novel that gets straight into the action followed by several good and unexpected twists. It started getting exciting towards the end and the fight scene was very exhilarating which I wouldn’t normally say. You do find yourself telling Porter not to do it, or asking why he is doing something and he ends up with the injuries to prove it was a bad idea. Porter & Styles are a cracking team with wonderful colleagues and partners behind them. I’m slightly worried though as this read as if it might be the last which make me think the title said that too. Is this really “The End of the Line”? I hope not.

Loving this series featuring detectives Porter and Styles, sad that this seems to be the last book. When an urban explorer known for his video blog against the far right is murdered live on facebook by a group wearing Islamic symbols, there is political uproar and protests by the right-wing English Welfare Party to contend with as well as the murder investigation. Porter has enough on his plate, but at the same time the first lead comes up on the hit-and-run which killed his wife Holly, several years earlier. That case is assigned to a colleague, but Porter being Porter can't resist getting involved and crossing the line of what's legal, risking his life and his relationship with Evie. Totally gripping.

This arrived yesterday, safe and sound.
I look forward to this (although I have a few other books I have to read first), and I know my husband who has been reading along will enjoy it too. He'll probably get to it before me. If only I could get him to join bookcrossing and write reviews.. at least we can discuss the books together.
Thanks so much for making this available and for sending.

Here as part of a bookcrossing spiral - perhaps the last?
This was as suspenseful and action packed as the previous books. Yet again I have issues with Porter's lone ranger attitude... and his loss of control makes him more human, I suppose, but rather scary. Here we have the very real and frightening rise of the extreme right and how ethical lines get blurred - right, left, and center.
An entertaining read- but not always comfortable.
This travels next to Icila, but I'm about to head off for ten days and won't have time to get to the post office beforehand, so it will sit tight in the meantime.
Thanks for making these books available, and happy summer and all the best to all.

Thank you for the book and the traveling postcard.
I just ordered a box of "this is my bookstore". What a wonderful idea !

I was looking forwards to reading this 4th book in the series. Alas, for me it not delivered. I got bored with the lack of action and usual witty repartees between Porter and Styles to say nothing about the flat resolution of Holly's death.
