I did enjoy this and I appreciated the representation of the the f/f romance. We don't get many of those, especially in comics! The fantasy elements were fun. In general, though, I prefer the author's trilogy that begins with The Witch Boy.

The little box-o-books arrived safely today; thanks so much!

Later: A charming and poignant tale of the dawning love between lonely (and closeted) Morgan, who's desperate to escape her insular island home, and the adorable selkie Keltie, who's taking advantage of a shared kiss to spend some time in human form (something she can only do once every seven years). Morgan gets to work out issues with her own family and her group of friends - all of whom she'd been keeping at arm's length out of fear of what they'd think if they knew she was gay - and Keltie gets to make some moves to preserve her seal-family's calving grounds from the perils of a new, huge excursion boat. There's some angst, but it's resolved pretty quickly, and if the girls aren't able to be together in the way they wanted, there's hope for the future. (And a cute nod-and-a-wink from Morgan's grandfather at the end, revealing more knowledge of selkies than Morgan had suspected!)

Update: I got a JE-alert email from late on June 25th, as follows:

"felt rushed? but overall a good book. wouldnt keep it, but it held my attention :)
By d3ad-d33r from Concord, New Hampshire USA
Book Rating: 8 out of 10"

Oddly, the JE doesn't show on the book's history; not sure if the finder chose to delete it or if something went wrong with the site and it didn't stick. I got 2 copies of the JE alert so it seems as if the site may have been glitching. If the finder checks in, thanks for posting, and feel free to add a new JE if you want!
