Reading now. LOVING it so far.

This excellent book was my introduction to Becky Chambers and proved to be my favorite kind of read: a meditation on what it means to be human. The story pulled me in immediately and kept my attention throughout. This is character-driven sci-fi in which interpersonal relationships are given the focus they are due. The cast of characters is small, but diverse in several ways (race, gender identity, sexual orientation). I laughed…I cried…I felt “all the things”!!! For such a short work, it made quite an impression on me and I think it will prove to be memorable -- I can see myself continuing to think about it as time goes on.

Chambers is an extremely talented writer and I will definitely be reading more of her work!
