Walking on the Ceiling

Left in my street library. A debut novel which may be suitable for my 666 reading challenge (Turkey). This is the only copy registered on Bookcrossing at this time.

A very gentle,a low paced book which was really about the growing up of the writer and her relationship to others. The story is mainly set in Paris and is about the time young Turkish girl Nunu meets a famous older author who she calls M. Their relationship grows as they walk and converse and we learn about Nunu’s prickly relationship with her mother as well as other people in her life.
“An unguarded glimpse of a young woman’s coming into her own …about the complexities of memory, intellectual pleasure, and the places, real and imagined, we can’t escape”.
