Journal Entry 1 by Nu-Knees from Knaresborough, North Yorkshire United Kingdom on Wednesday, February 22, 2023
I bought this from the Cancer Research UK charity shop in Harrogate yesterday because I previously enjoyed The Way You Look Tonight by this author and thought it was time I tried another one.
Journal Entry 2 by Nu-Knees at Knaresborough, North Yorkshire United Kingdom on Thursday, March 9, 2023
This engaging story of an abusive marriage and its aftermath is set in a time and place that brought back many memories for me:
The time is the ghastly heatwave summer of 1976 - oh yes, I remember it well
And the place is the Lake District where we moved a couple of years later, although we weren't there at the time - as I read, I could picture all the lakes and villages he mentioned.
Yes, I enjoyed reading this.

Journal Entry 4 by Blower at Knaresborough, North Yorkshire United Kingdom on Thursday, April 27, 2023
From my friend and neighbour Nu-Knees.
I was drawn to this because of it's time setting and location.
1976 was a memorable year for many.
I was also interested to read a Richard Madeley novel.
I wasn't sure I was going to like at first. It eventually got going and I did enjoy it.
A good easy read.
