Summary from Goodreads:

Join Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone, and John Burroughs on their pioneering camping trips during the early 1900s in this energetic and entertaining nonfiction picture-book adventure.

After years of inventing things that other people needed, Thomas Edison and Henry Ford realized there was something they needed—a vacation! So, the famous inventors packed up Ford's Model T and invited their good friends Harvey Firestone and John Burroughs to join them as "the Four Vagabonds" hit America's back roads to enjoy the country's natural beauty, fireside chats, and frolicking fun with friends—all while inspiring future generations to invent camping adventures of their own.

Thank you so much for this wonderful package of books. The idea of a road trip sounds awesome (especially after being cooped up from Covid-19 protocols for basically two years). Looking forward to a camping vacation with Thomas Edison (I live about 10 miles from where he was born in Milan, Ohio), Henry Ford (my husband owns a Fiesta), Harvey Firestone (the rubber capital in Akron?), and John Burroughs (who I know as a Beat Poet Laureate, but doubt it is the same guy). Thanks for the Christmas package, and the book is now properly labelled.

A fun children's read about four famous men (Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Henry Firestone, and John Burroughs) who decide they have worked enough and take road trips together. Each brings expertise in their own fields, starting in essence road trips for everyone.

The best part may be the Funny Vagabond Camping stories at the end.

Coincidentally, I know a John Burroughs, who is a traveling poet. He is/was the Ohio Beat Poet Laureate and goes around the country promoting poetry. I wonder if they are related. Also, coincidentally, President Harding is mentioned in this book (including some photos) comes from the same city (Marion, Ohio) as I do.

Thanks, Edwina, for this gorgeous children's book about these vagabonds

Really enjoyed reading this. I especially liked the notes toward the back of the book. Gave the book to my grandsons, who like science and facts.
