Hidden in the depths of 18th century London, a secret apothecary shop caters to an unusual kind of clientele. Women across the city whisper of a mysterious figure named Nella who sells well-disguised poisons to use against the oppressive men in their lives. But the apothecary's fate is jeopardised when her newest patron, a precocious 12 year old, makes a fatal mistake, sparking a string of consequences that echo through the centuries. Meanwhile, in present day London, aspiring historian, Caroline Parcewell spends her 10th wedding anniversary alone, running from her own demons. When she stumbles upon a clue to the unsolved apothecary murders that haunted London two hundred years ago, her life collides with the apothecary's in a stunning twist of fate - and not everyone will survive.

I loved this tale set in London in the present day and also the 1700s though with all the work that goes on in London, that a certain room was still in existence was really amazing to me but yet not beyond the realms of possibility. After all I do live near a city where one of our former Kings was found buried in a car park!

I really enjoyed this novel too. My favourite parts were those set in the past rather than the present, but I liked the way the two tales intertwined. Thanks for sharing this one Tanamo. I hope to get it travelling on to its next reader soon.
