Tommy Cabot Was Here

This was a sweet little novella. I’d quite enjoyed Sebastian’s Regency trilogy (about the Turners, starting with Lawrence Brown Affair). And I also liked her cozy sweater English village murder mystery set after WWII “Hither, Page.” So I was a bit surprised to discover this loan from the library was a shorter novella. I generally prefer more pages to sink my teeth into. So this felt a bit rushed, as there’s a shorter time span to establish the characters and their emotional connections. Still had cozy vibes in a New England winter, as two high school best friends reconnect later in life. Perfectly sweet and short, nothing that catches your breath or hugely affects your heart rate. It’s the reading equivalent of a nice cup of generic tea. Perfectly pleasant and mild, nothing spicy or shocking. Just cozy.
