The Runaway Quilt

Going in, I didn't realize that this is a series. Thankfully the plot is mostly about a main character's ancestors, so it was easy to read as a stand alone.
Sylvia Compson found the memoir of her great-grandfather’s spinster sister, Gerda Bergstrom, which recounts their arrival in America and how they became involved in the underground railroad.
I've read Hidden in Plain View, a nonfiction about the use of quilts in passing on messages to runaway slaves. This fiction is a nice complement to the book, and the author tells a compelling story that is a most enjoyable read.
