Five on Brexit island

"Timmy was neutral, although, if he had understood the variety of sausages available on the European mainland, that would have been a factor.
Join Julian, George, Dick, Anne and Timmy the dog as they leave Britain to declare the independence for Kirrin Island. But can their friendship survive the horrors of a referendum?"

I hadn't read a book in English for too long time (some years, maybe?), but reading this was still fluent. I really enjoyed reading this book. Some things happening were quite funny, but it's also possible that I missed some jokes as I haven't followed news from Britain so much in the past years. I'd love to read more books of this series!

Next to erpax. Enjoy reading!

This was a wishlist book. I have to confess that I've never read any of the original Famous Five -books, they were "banned" in our household for being so badly written...
Began to read this already, but so far it hasn't been the witty and humorous book I had anticipated judging by its name (and the names of some of the other aduld F.F. books).

Finished last night. The book got better, but I had to read about Famous Five from Wikipedia to understand why George was a she.
Like Churchill said: "Those who are not radicals when young, have no heart and those who are not conservatives when old, have no brains." I was radical about animal welfare when young, but I calmed down at around 16.
Unless this is on some Finn's wishlist, the book can travel with me to Falkirk BC-Convention. Perhaps they will finally announce Scotland's independence!

Off to Annelis next and then perhaps to Scotland?

Thank you for the book, Kirjakko!
Nobody banned books for me, so I read all the Famous Five books I found in the locat library at the age of 10-13 years. Maybe half a dozen were translated into Finnish at that time.
