Loved loved loved this. Beautiful, simple and heartbreaking.
I picked this up from Mum when we were visiting Blackheath. Mum is always a great source of quality books. Looking forward to visiting again in January.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Sending to my BC Secret Santa. I loved this book. I hope you do too.

I see this one has been registered so I will read this copy and thanks for my Secret Santa gift :)

Spied this one on meganh’s Wishlist so it’s a tag for you.

Thank you so much for the tag jeniwren! The book was left on my doorstep on the wettest day in months; so happy that you enclosed it in plastic to protect it - the paper it was wrapped in was saturated!
Thanks also for the lovely bookmark and newsy little card.
Hope my thoughts on the book are similar to Rach260, I really enjoyed The Overstory.

A slightly disappointing read for me after The Overstory. Very quick reading with it’s numerous short chapters but I must concede that I skimmed over a lot of Theo’s stories of fantasy planets.
Theo was a caring father and anti drugs which mainstream schooling were trying to force upon his son Robin. Their relationship was very close, specially because of Theo’s widower status.
The special training which Robin undertook seemed fantastical but I loved how he became obsessed with nature and the world’s disappearing flora and fauna.
A very sad ending with caused me to shed a few tears.
