I loved this book. At first, Ove got on my nerves because he was such a grump. But gradually, as the layers of his story were peeled back, I came to really love him.

I found out after reading this book that a movie was made of it. Excellent casting and a really great adaptation of the story. Worth seeing.


What you have in your hands is an honest-to-goodness gift, no strings attached. You may keep it forever and ever, pass it on to a friend, or release it into the wild like I did.

Time to let this book go. We saw the movie with Tom Hanks, and also the original movie...so I am going to attack some of the other books on Mount TBR, and put this one in our LFL #95058
