Journal Entry 1 by greenbadger from St Albans, Hertfordshire United Kingdom on Saturday, October 1, 2022
Becky Brandon is looking forward to her usual family Christmas with her parents, only to find they've moved to trendy Shoreditch and left it all to her to organise this year! I started off finding all the characters in this really annoying, but gradually warmed to the humour and by the end found it quite touching. What I can't understand is how Becky, despite her husband's good job, can spend so much money! Also a bit uncomfortable that her ethical sister is a figure of fun. But the thing that most amazes me is that in all Becky's stress the thing she's totally unfazed by is the cooking! I host our family Christmas, it's all done from scratch and I end up preparing food for at least two days beforehand.
