Sequel in this formulaic yet still fun to read trilogy. Teens joining the underground resistance against corrupt regime. Dystopian future America vibes. The stakes stay High and the pacing keeps the pages turning. The extreme brevity of actual days passed does make some of the burgeoning romance stuff harder to buy into. It's a real Romeo and Juliet Warp Speed love affair. But then, they are actual teenagers, when those emotions can hit hard and fast. But so much angst over someone you literally met a few days ago! I enjoyed that this book got darker, heavier, and more complicated. That shining "easy solution" they'd been chasing turns out to be a lot more complicated and fraught than initially thought. Everyone has complex layered motives, power corrupts, etc etc. Some interesting ideas and things to think about while reading along.
