I had totally missed this would be a Sigurdur Oli story! He hasn't been a favourite one from the usual set of characters, but this time he got a little more depth into him, so it wasn't too bad of an experience. The story took some time to take off, but once it did, you just had to follow the trainwreck to the end of it. I might be growing tired of Indridason's two different timelines in every book, but then again, would they be Indridason books without them...

My mother already finished the book: she liked it. According to her, Icelandic detective stories are pretty harsh sometimes. I agree.
