I got this softcover from an online seller, for another release copy from this charming series. This volume's got Suguri's mixed-breed Lupin on the cover, and a black lab on the back.

This book introduces us to the main characters and shows how Suguri wound up working at the pet shop in the first place, with a charming mix of cute dogs and of the real-life concerns of caring for them. [Hint: there are quite a few panels dealing with poop and pee, both of which our heroine seems surprisingly comfortable with. But then, she *is* crazy for dogs!] There are some potentially scary bits, too - naive Suguri tends to be too trusting - but things generally work out.

Oh, do have some tissues on hand as well; there's a very bittersweet story here about a girl who's thinking about a replacement for her faithful but aging dog... {sniffle!}
