As an adult, I couldn't get into the book; however, I read the summary, and it is a touching children's book that I think a lot of kids will be able to relate to.
It is the winner of the John Newberry Medal.
Unfortunately, the back cover gives away a lot of the book and you can kind of figure out the plot. So... try not to read the back cover!
