A Fool and His Honey
5 journalers for this copy...
Journal Entry 1 by lils74 from Kathmandu, Bagmati (incl. Kathmandu Valley) Nepal on Friday, August 5, 2022
Ordered off of ebay for Poodlesister, since I tagged her with this copy https://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/3355966/ (where you can see my thoughts on the book) several years ago, embarrassingly, and by the time I finally got my act together, our local post office was no longer sending internationally, due to covid-related bureaucracy, and is still to resume. Apologies, and I hope you enjoy it!

I’m reading the series in order. This book was a bit more sombre and dark in subject matter.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
This is going to yorkshire-lass with books 6, 7 and 8 in the series.
Thank you for sending this and some other book in this series my way, as my TBR mountain is massive it may take me a while to get to this.
Another good read in this series, as Poodlesister said a little darker in this one and I was really taken by surprise by the events in the last chapter.
Taking to the Falkirk Convention to fulfil a wish. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did :-)
Thanks, yorkshire-lass, for your lovely surprise bag. I feel totally spoiled, eating candy from York and journalling loads of books before it's dinner-time.
The book will return to Scotland next week as it's on Rainbow3's wishlist.
Began reading last night and Angel's comment on driving a car while in labour reminded me of a vet I know. I had seen her pregnant a year before at the annual Winner Dog Show in Helsinki and there she was again - pregnant.
"You have a very long pregnancy, you were already pregnant a year ago" I said to her. "This is another one, but I'm more pregnant than last time."
"When are you due?"
"Any moment", she said and I thought it was a joke.
Her dog was doing very well, competing higher and higher, which meant they had to run around the ring several laps. A breeder sitting beside me said:
"See, she has that inner-directed look on her face bitches have when they are in labour! I'm pretty sure her labour has started."
Now that she mentioned it, the vet seemed to be doing everything on auto-pilot, not looking that glad when they won classes and very relieved when her dog was "only" the best of opposite sex, not the best of breed - when she would have had to continue to the big ring in the terrier group. When the judge congratulated her she said "Thanks, I think I am in labour."
She left her dog to a breeder living near her, who promised to take the dog home. She then began her normally almost two-hour trip back to Tampere, driving herself. She pulled by the roadside on the motorway when she felt a contraction coming. She phoned her husband who began driving to collect her and they met in Tarttila, half-an-hour away from Tampere, left her car there and continued to the hospital. The baby was born 15 minutes after their arrival... Vet's are crazy. I know, I have worked with them for 37 years.

Like previous readers, I was also surprised and sad about some twists and turns towards the end. About some things I had a hunch.
If I don't see Rainbow3 in person I'm sure one of the local bookcrossers can deliver the book to her.

Thrilled to pick this up from you tonight kirjakko. Many thanks this is a treat, especially as it's so well travelled. Still collecting these before I get started in on the series so it will be a while till I get round to it. Thanks again. Hurrah for BookCrossing & BookCrossers!!! 🤗
