First published in 1933 it is an entertaining enough read although showing its age. The story is somewhat uneven; there are one or two racial references that would have been acceptable then, but not now; and there were one or two moments when I realised that Angela Thirkell seemed only to see the world from the perspective of her own class. However none of those faults were unforgivable. I just love large print...
