CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I've had this book since time immemorial (i.e. since the time of publication) - a good family friend gifted my copy to me when I was young. I'm grateful to have finally finished it.
I have to say, I don't find Prof. Hawking's writing super lucid - at times it definitely takes more time to digest the more complex theories he's proposing or relating, especially when getting to the later chapters involving gravitational theory.
I appreciate his initiation, and return to, discussion of systems of knowledge and how they relate to philosophy and God. It is clear that Hawking is most interested in the big questions of (as he puts it) not only what the universe is, but why it is. He's clearly a forward thinker, and a generational talent.
