Four Hundred and Nineteen

"In the seething heart of Lagos City, a criminal cartel scours the internet looking for victims..." I read this book a few years ago, and the opening pages are riveting. It reads like a murder mystery and I found myself turning pages faster and faster, drawn in by the excellent writing of Will Ferguson. The basic plot: An elderly man gets sucked into the vortex of online scamming. He ends up committing suicide as threats increase and he leaves his family in a terrible situation. His daughter Laura, a reporter goes all the way to the source to try and track down and corner her father's killer(s). "Sir, I am the daughter of a Nigerian (prince/diplomat/Royalty/oil magnate) and I need your help..." We've all been there - this is the world's most insidious internet scam, and sadly...a few people are still falling for it.
