This book had a few interesting ideas and I liked some parts of it, but in general I found whole paragraphs or chapters incomprehensible. Often there seems to be no connection between a theme or scene and the next one.

Actually it took me more than 50 pages to settle a bit on the writing style and story. I found the language often difficult. Maybe that's because my English is far from fluent, I don't know. Furthermore, usually the books featuring Satan tend to be a mix of more serious contemplations and light-hearted fun. Here I couldn't nail down what the author went for. I guess he tried to be witty sometimes, but I didn't laugh at all.

The trick to set things in motion is weak and fuzzy ditto the final conclusion of the story. Not the worst book I've read, but not that original or great either. Decent to pass the time.

Lucifer got itchy feet again and will now continue its travels to Latvia through the First Sentences Virtual Book Box - Round 22!
