2 journalers for this copy...
I bought this recently at Green Heron Books-- a lovely little used bookstore in Paris, Ontario. My husband and I were passing by just as the owner was closing up for the day. He was just taking in a rack of discounted books but let us look at them for a minute, so I picked a few including this one.
I have read this book in the past, quite a long time ago, so I picked this copy up just to bookcross. Before I let it go, I will look up the old copy from my bookshelf and copy and paste my thoughts from back then into this journal.

Fantasy is not my usual genre, but I enjoyed this book more than I was expecting to enjoy it. I do like Ursula LeGuin's writing, and I thought there were some very good points made in this book, and good lessons taught.
I had this waiting to be wild released for the Year of the Dragon and Becky's Hugs Release Challenges, but I joined a Sweepstakes at the last minute with a particular book in mind to send... And as it turns out, the recipient has already read that one. I think this one fits the category as well and I see that it's on the recipient's wishlist but not her bookshelf, so it's working its way through the postal system as a Controlled Release instead!
I hope you will enjoy this "classic of children's literature and of fantasy," sweepstakes recipient! Congratulations and best wishes for the Year of the Dragon!

Thank you very much JessicaEby for this wishlist classic. I read it as a teenager almost 30 years ago and have been hankering after a reread for some time.
