I got this little softcover from Better World Books. As per the title it's about small pleasures, and includes lots of illustrations of same, with occasional pages of text describing an idea in more detail. Examples include "a tidy desk" (might be more pleasurable for some than for others!), "an online purchase arriving" (yeah, I do love that one), "shelling your own peas" (very satisfying, though I do tend to eat the fresh peas as I go), "standing barefoot on warm sand", and many more. Some of them really are tiny - "unscrewing a jar in one go", for example! - while others involve more investment and possible expense (taking a bike to work instead of a car does require that you have a bike and live where a bike-commute is both possible and safe), but each entry is rather fun to think about.
I'm adding this book to the Small Box of Small Books (see the rest of my selections and replacements in the bookbox journal here). Hope someone enjoys it!
This is a favorite of mine. It's ideal to browse through when you might be feeling a little low. I will look through it and then pass it on.
