I just received the book in the mail. I will read it next. I will journal again when I'm done.
I really liked this book as you can see by the 10 rating I gave it. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed this author. She has a great balance in her writing. For me she gives me the right amount of detail. I was cheering all the way for Julia. I will be mailing this out tonight to Casperette. Happy reading!

Wow! I have read one other book by this author, The Three Wishes' and I loved that as well. This one was an excellent read. I learned about angora rabbits and about lobster harvesting. I found a lot of similarities between the main character Julia and myself. I loved her independence and her spirit. Every year I make a list of "characters I will miss" and she will definately be on that list. I wish her well. Off to the next person on this bookring! : )
This arrived today. Can't wait to start it! I have to be honest - within the past week, several rings/rays showed up. I am reading them in order they arrived, so I can't read this one right away. I will journal it again when I do start. I already have nicole4's addy, so will be able to send it on the second I finish.
Finished this last night. Really enjoyed this book. First book I've read by this author and am happy to know I have 2 other books by her on my bookshelf, which I look forward to reading. Thank you for sharing this book, Rrrcaron! :)

I actually received this book on 7/8, but forgot to write down the BCID so I could journal it at work on friday! So, as it stands, I'm already almost done with it! :)
Very good book. At first I found it hard to get into, but the more I read, the more I got sucked into the Big Sawyer life! The story is one that really makes you evaluate life and what it's about. Julia was a very compassionate character and your heart went you to her and you were proud to watch her grow stronger over the course of the book. Very good!!

I received this in the mail sometime last week. I only write sometime as I am so busy as my room mate left it on the counter for me. I have only so far read the first chapter but it seems like a good one.
Finished this novel last week and I really enjoyed it.
