An odd book. Guess I'd call it wannabe Gothic. Two stories, separated in time by 15-20 years. Early in the plot, little Lilly Blackwood, born albino and kept locked away by her dysfunctional parents, is sold to the circus by her mother. The expectation is that she'll join the freak show. The other story line has teenage Julia Blackwood, who has run away from the same home but in a much later timeframe, is notified that her parents are both deceased and she has inherited Blackwood Manor and a ton of money. She returns to the manor and tries to find out the mysteries of the place and its inhabitants.
