Picnic at Hanging Rock

Thank you, cookiescaucasus (or your dad) for finding this copy in a used book store in the US and bringing it to Georgia in your suitcase. I am looking forward to reading it!

Joan's writing is brilliant - she paints the place and her characters really well. I really enjoyed visiting Australia more than a century ago. There are moments when the book gives really eerie vibes, especially the episodes on Hanging Rock. She just keeps you guessing and wondering till the end. I read this book with no extra information as the foreword suggested, and I would also recommend this approach.

I am taking it to the book swap at Lokal tonight. If nobody picks it up, I will leave it on the book exchange shelf at Lokal.

Picked this up at the monthly book swap at Lokal. I was intrigued by the mysterious nature of the story and the clips I'd seen on tumblr of the film.
