I found this softcover, subtitled "a manifesto for better living and not being an asshole", in this Little Free Library in Merrimack NH while dropping off some books of my own. It's by two brothers who describe their journey from typical meat-devouring American kids to a conscientious shift to a vegan diet - with some nicely-balanced discussions along the way.

This one sounds interesting, a light-hearted way of encouraging people to go vegan (vs the tactic of showing abused farm animals), so I am curious to read it. Looks like a quick easy read too.

I was a little put off with the liberal sprinkling of "sh*t" "f*ck" and "b*tch" in the book. I know there are people who talk like that, and the authors likely do that to sound colloquial and familiar, but, call me prudish or old-fashioned, to me they are just lazy substitution for more accurate vocabulary.

That said, the book does contain some useful info on why veganism is good and how to start a vegan lifestyle. And maybe their approach works for some carnivores.
