An ok read. I found Essie's story the most interesting.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Added to my "Early Christmas Bookbox"
Selected from dabercro’s "Early Christmas Bookbox.”
This book had me rolling my eyes at the stilted conversations. Hannah's mother is depressed and grieving but suddenly snaps out of it to buy her daughter a car, start a business and buy her a home because her late husband was a wise investor (cringe).
The murder unfolds at the end of the book and that's why I kept reading. It wasn't very Christmasy.
I read this for PopSugar's 2023 reading challenge prompt: A book you meant to read in 2022.

Pulled from the bookbox. I like this mystery series.
As I read this book I felt like it had to be one of the early Hannah Swenson novels, but it wasn’t. I wonder if this was one the author has stashed away?
I liked the story in the notebooks. The rest of the storyline was okay. Actually, if I’d read this around Christmas time, I might have liked it better.
