They Both Die at the End

I received this book from the Her Adventures Book Exchange.
It's definitely young adult and obsessed with death. I just finished Anna Karenina and after Tolstoy's obsession with death, I think it was just too much for me at the moment. I also recently read The Measure by Nikki Erlick and before that I read Set to Expire by Cindy Chabre, which all deals with a world where we'd know when we die. I'm fighting with a sort of a chicken and egg problem with these books - meaning, how the fact that we know when we die influences our eventual death and how the death predictor accounts for this effect.
