Welcome to BookCrossing!
Thank you for picking up this book. If you’re new to BookCrossing and find this book and this site (www.bookcrossing.com), please make a journal entry to let me know that this book has found a good home with you. You may choose to remain anonymous or to join.
I hope you'll join BookCrossing (doesn't cost anything to join!) and if you do, please consider using me, earthcaroleanne, as your referring member. When you’ve finished reading this book and are ready to send it on its way again, make a journal entry if you are giving or sending this book to a known person, or a release note if you are leaving it “in the wild” again for anyone to catch. Then watch its journey. You’ll be alerted by e mail each time someone makes another journal entry. And it’s confidential (you are known only by your screen name and no one is ever given your e-mail address), free, and spam-free.
Enjoy the site, the book and hopefully the BookCrossing community. If you’re already a BookCrossing member, thank you for picking up this book.
Happy BookCrossings!

Jim Qwilleran, prize-winning reporter turned novelist shares his bachelor apartment with two of Moose County's most notorious felines. Naturally suspicious, the Siamese - Koko and Yum Yum - share their patron's insatiable curiosity, but do they really have the talent for detection that Pickax lawman suspects? Pickax's sedate calm is occasionally disturbed by random acts of vandalism, but nothing more serious than paint daubed on civic property. Until, that is, the cold-blooded murder of a young banker Harley Fitch and his new bride Bella, which is altogether more shattering. Qwilleran's moustache twitches in anticipation of mystery and Koko develops a fascination for all thing glutinous. Just what is the attraction of the musty old books under the guardianship of the softly spoken Edd Smith: of Harley Fitch and his intricately details marine models; of Wally the taxidermist? Koko is sure to sniff something out...
I like these books but this one was maybe a little slower. The Siamese didn't really seem to be doing that much to help and as I got nearer the end I kept wondering how it would all be tied up. I was unable to guess the murderer.

Released 1 yr ago (12/9/2021 UTC) at Potters Bar, Hertfordshire United Kingdom
CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Sending this in to my NSS Santa parcel.
I'm sorry, I got caught in a snow storm while carrying this for reading and the edges got a little wet. The pages aren't damaged, just I little crinkled. Maybe putting under a big pile of books will flatten it.

A Second book in my NSS box! I LOVE these books by Lilian Jackson Brown! I also love the fact that it has survived a Scottish Snow Storm! Loool!
Thank you so much Earthcaroleanne!
I look forward to snuggling on the settee with a blanket, cat and cup of tea to enjoy this Wish List book.

I love Lilian Jackson Brauns' work.
This is a lovely, gentle murder mystery with Qwilleran and his two wonderful Feline Sleuths.
A lovely, light entertaining read.

On it's way to? as a very late Birthday present.

It arrived! Thank you so much kirstykat.

Well this was a bit odd :-).
It was a nice idea for a cosy mystery with some interesting characters, but I wasn't hugely impressed with the plot itself. The Siamese seemed to be gimic and not particularly integral to the action. Maybe I'm just not a big enough cat fan!
