Ooh, I love when a birthday group member has a book I loved on their wishlist :)
It’s been years since I read this Newberry Medal winner, and I released my copy one August as a Peace Day remembrance.
Happy belated birthday, I hope you enjoy!

Thank you so much for this book. The card with the BCID and the book got jumbled up into piles, sorry for the long delay in journaling.
Thank you also for the pressed penny :)

A well written story, that allows conversations to start about WWII with children. I enjoyed the little social history snippets like Kirsti’s new shoes.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Placed in the basket of books, ready to find another reader.
If you aren't familiar with Bookcrossing, take a few minutes to check out this very cool site. Bookcrossers LOVE books, and more than anything, they love to read books and then set them free for other people to find and enjoy. I would love it if you would leave a journal entry -- you can say where you found the book or how you liked it when you read it.
