About the Book:
In In Order to Live, Yeonmi Park shines a light not just into the darkest corners of life in North Korea, describing the deprivation and deception she endured and which millions of North Korean people continue to endure to this day, but also onto her own most painful and difficult memories. She tells with bravery and dignity for the first time the story of how she and her mother were betrayed and sold into sexual slavery in China and forced to suffer terrible psychological and physical hardship before they finally made their way to Seoul, South Korea—and to freedom.

Releasing this one in the "Around the World Bookbox".
Selected from the Around the World Bookbox.
Born and raised in North Korea, Yeonmi lived in an oppressive society and knew no other way of living. At the age of 13, she and her mother escaped to China, only to be sold into human trafficking. The only upside to this new life was the food they were able to eat regularly and they were no longer starving. But was this new life any better than the oppression of N Korea?
Yeonmi and her mothers were resourceful and are fighters, eventually working their way to the freedom of South Korea and a completely new way of life, which will take time to adjust to.
Yeonmi tells her story and her fight to freedom In Order to Live. I found the book rather eye-opening, especially the squalor of living conditions and way of life in North Korea and the underbelly of human trafficking in China.

Adding to the Around the World Bookbox#2
Received in the Around the World Bookbox. I see that it's been in the previous box and returned. It definitely sounds interesting, and I appreciate the inclusion of a lesser known & written about country. Thanks.
