This was ok. Some of its 'facts' are erroneous (like the long-ago-discredited taste map of the tongue), so it's obvious that this writer simly regurgitated some of the content from other sources, without fact-checking it. This made me doubt the veracity of everything in the book. However, I did learn a few things. I found the sections on knife materials and whipping cream particularly instructive.
