*includes spoilers* This turned into a lovely book, living up to it’s comparison with ‘Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine’. I’m not always great at predicting endings, but I guessed most of these; the softening of Veronica McCreedy (including a sort of redemption for her life choices); the blossoming relationship with her grandson; and his (Patrick) finding himself, a partner and a cause.

And the penguins were great, so what’s not to like. As I say a lovely feel-good story, would make a great film … the lead role is made for Maggie Smith!
