Delicious!

I love Ruth Reichl's non fictions, so when I heard that she started writing novels (being unemployed after Gourmet magazine closed gave her the time to write the novels she always wanted to) I immediately put it on my wishlist.
It has taken a while for me to get to reading it, but I very much enjoyed the book. Billie begins working at Delicious!, New York's most iconic food magazine, and is introduced to the magazine's colorful staff as well as chefs and gourmet food purveyors around town. Then one day Billie discovered a hidden room in the magazine's library and finds a collection of correspondence from WWII between a plucky twelve-year-old and the legendary James Beard.
The book is entertaining on many levels: the luscious description of food which Reichl is a master of, being restaurant critic for both LA Times and NY Times; the interesting tidbits about life during WWII; as well as the lives of the characters.
I am setting this aside in hope that I can take this to the next BC Con. I mentioned Ruth Reichl's books during the Virtual Con in April and I believe several BCers may be interested in them.
