The start of a new era ... or more of the same?!
(3/09/21) The verdict is ‘yes’, but mostly ‘yes’. Other than the tech (cyber crime) storyline and Reacher’s reluctant use of a mobile phone, I’m not sure what little bro’ Andrew has bought to the party? This is vintage Jack Reacher, although I did notice that he was knocked down by a Russian hard man … signs of slowing down in his late middle age maybe?! Short of bringing in a partner or younger apprentice, neither of which would be JR’s way, I’m not sure where the franchise can go. There were some fun twists in this story involving neo-Nazis AND cold-war era Russian spys, Jack does the business, and is back on the road … maybe it is time to recreate his MP unit to take on some different challenges and mix it up a bit? Or maybe not, he gives back the phone at the end and, after a euphemistic take-away and beer with a local female detective, he hitches a ride out of town.
