I got this choose-your-own-path book from an online seller. I enjoyed the author's pirate-themed book Marooned and the mad-science hero/villain Superpowered, and wanted to try more in this series.
This one's about a zombie-plague that begins with the announcement of a new gene-therapy product that can make people immortal (!). Your first choices are whether to take the medicine or not, with subsequent branches leading to a very entertaining variety of paths and endings. Even in the paths where you become a zombie, there can be some fascinating choices, though the most elaborate paths involve evading the plague one way or another - trying to survive on your own, finding competent fellow survivors to team up with, etc. Lots of exploration options, character-study branches that merge back into the same storyline (deftly done, and adding depth to the characters and relationships - sometimes making a subsequent death more poignant), ethical decisions - lots going on here. If you like the idea of starring in your own version of "The Walking Dead", this is the book for you!
And I'll add that I'm VERY impressed with the author's game-mechanics in all his books; the choices are interesting and varied, the scene-setting effective, the endings ranging from extremely-grisly to wildly-successful... great fun!
[Update: there's a follow-on book in the same zombie-apocalypse 'verse, Pathogens.]
