The Day After

The book starts out with alternate chapters about a young man named Shai who overcomes many difficulties to be successful professionally, and a seemingly perfect older female lawyer named Noa. Eventually we learn (SPOILER! But this is mentioned in other reviews) that they are the same person. I had no idea this was coming. The book goes on to give more background into this change, but I was left feeling the story was incomplete and that I didn’t truly know or understand Noa. I was especially wondering about the impact on her family, previously described as close and loving. There were also problems with language, possibly due to translation.
