My friend and neighbour (BookCrosser Blower) offered me a selection from a large bag of books given to her by a mutual friend who'd been having a Big Clearout. This is one of the ones I've kept to try, chosen because the novels I've read by this author don't include this one!

Nothing on the cover waved a red flag - but as soon as I read reviews and comments from other readers I realised that this book is not for me! It's clear that the brutality and unpleasantness depicted in this story of war crimes and vengeance is far beyond anything I could cope with reading about.
I offered it back to blower but as it's not something she'd want to read either, she's left it with me to find it a new reader. It does get some positive comments so it must be to somebody's taste . . .

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I swapped a couple of books in Asenby this afternoon after visiting family in nearby Topcliffe, including enjoying delicious chcolate cake from their local farm shop, The Milk Churn - definitely recommended :-)

Nearly two million people around the world give their books a unique BookCrossing IDentity number (BCID) before sending them out to find new readers. Since the start of the scheme in April 2001 over thirteen million such books have been put into circulation. This is one of them!

Our hope is that we can track the progress of our books once they've left our hands - and that's possible if finders like you visit the website, key in the BCID and leave a comment, however long or short. It's fun, it doesn't have to cost anything, although the site always appreciates donations towards running costs, and you can remain anonymous if you wish. You don't have to join but if you do you'll be able to number and track your own books!
