The Confidential Agent
2 journalers for this copy...
I never knew my mother-in-law. She died before I and my husband first met. But there are still some of her possessions in our house, and amongst them, a great stack of paperback books. I have my husband's permission to read whichever ones I wish to, and to release them on afterwards. It feels like I'm getting to finally know her slightly!
Hmmmm. Some parts were fine, other parts seemed dull or too far-fetched. There's a heaviness about Greene's writing that doesn't suit me I think. This is more cheerful than some other of his novels, but even it has a suffocating atmosphere of melancholy which I know is entirely deliberate. I was glad to finish it.
Sent to the winner (or decoy?) of the Classics sweepstakes.
If you are new to bookcrossing - welcome and congratulations for finding a book! Please leave a journal entry to let me and any other readers know where it has gone and what you thought of it.

The Confidential Agent arrived safely in Delphi today along with two other books! I think all of them are new to me and they all seem interesting! I agree that Graham Greene's writting can be a bit "heavy" at times, but I'm glad you found this book more cheerful that others. Let's see...
