Simon Clark is one of the coolest of a new wave of post-Clive Barker British Horror Writers, a club that (in my opinion, for what THAT's worth) includes Simon Douglas, Kim Newman, Stephen Laws, to name check a few. But in many ways The Fall ain't horror - it's a time travel novel like no other. Don't be fooled by the cover, the Fall mentioned isn't spiritual (actually it probably is, but that's just by the by) - for a group of tourists, visitors to a Roman amphitheatre in Yorkshire, the Fall is temporal. Take your seats, ladies and gentlemen, and become the show - going back in time without realising it: a day, a decade or so, a generation, through war and centuries, back to the Victorian period or so. Don't worry too much about dying - after all, you were alive yesterday, weren't you? But do worry, just a little, about what might be sitting in your seat a year ago - let's just hope it becomes you, shall we say...? A strange and unsettling fantasy ride through time, courtesy of Mr Clark. "I could really fall for this..."

Yes, I ripped that off from Douglas Adams. And?

Release planned for Wednesday, May 05, 2004 at Upstairs, Big Blue Coffee Co., Sadlergate in Derby, England United Kingdom.

To be released tomorrow, for me, after five. Except... by then, it'll be today, and today will be yesterday. And it's about time travel! Hey, that's spooky.
I wonder if I could release it last week...

Released on Friday, August 27, 2004 at Sent to a fellow BookCrosser in Controlled release, England United Kingdom.

I really enjoyed this book, the first Simon Clark one I have read. It is a good scary story with increasing tension and gore. I liked the premise and wondered what had happened to the rest of the cyclist.

For release to psychobaby who kindly gave me FOUR fantasy book from one series earlier this year. Hope you enjoy this one. I think I might have changed my mind about horror/fantasy.

Controlled release - thanks billhookbabe, for this and the other one (i've got all the st clares ones now, so don't worry about sending that 5th one!). Not read it yet - got a few more to get thru then i'm gonna tackle it. I've only read one other simon clark book so far, so it'll be interesting to see how this one compares. Very intrigued by what billhookbabe wrote about 'the rest of the cyclist'.....!
