This story, set in my home town - Melbourne, is both concise and distressing, brushing over historical times of trauma and often taking off in another direction, leaving the reader hanging. There are moments of lyrical beauty and there is horror. The protagonists are often awkward, angry and obviously shattered individuals.
This is not an easy read but worth the effort.
