Bought this one at Friends of the Library Bookstore.

Looks very interesting!! (if that is the right word for it...)

The deeply disturbed narrator creates a twisted variant of the mythical Persian "Gang Mahal" or Dumb House, where babies are raised in silence in order to discover whether language is innate or acquired. His own children succeed in developing a language, for which he extracts an appalling revenge.

What a disturbing book!! But it was just so readable...really makes me wonder what the author is like as a person...maybe it is better if I don't know.

This book is going on to CrazyGrace, once I've finished reading a couple more books!

Going to CrazyGrace at the Meet-Up tonight.

Journal Entry 4 by CrazyGrace from Minneapolis, Minnesota USA on Friday, July 23, 2004
Picked this up at the July meet-up. I opened it one sunny and happy day, read the first few pages, and like Joey on "Friends" I wanted to put it in the freezer. I will attempt it again in a week or two. This may be one I just can't bear to finish. I will journal again after reading. I hope.
