I picked this up on 06/06/21 from a Little Free Library in Peacock Point, Ontario. I am participating in an Around-the-World Reading Challenge and since I saw that this book is set in Botswana, I brought it home. It may or may not end up being used for this year's challenge.
I have never read any of Alexander McCall Smith's writings before, but I have heard good things about the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, so I'm excited to see for myself what all the fuss is about :) This is the second installment, so I'm hoping it won't matter that I haven't read the first.

I decided to use this book for my reading challenge, and I don't think it mattered at all that I haven't read the first book in the series.
I read through this quickly, and I wrote enjoyed it. I found Mma Ramotswe very relatable a lot of the time, even though we have very little in common aside from having lost our mothers as little girls and being raised by our daddies. I am now interested in finding the other No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency books and the show!
