I recently found two copies of the Scalzi for one dollar each, so of course I bought both. 😂. I haven’t read it yet, but so far, I have not read a Scalzi I did not like( at least!!).
Having bought one to read and want to give away, I may end up adding this to my science fiction only book box.

Releasing into my Science Fiction Only Bookbox
Chose from the Science Fiction Bookbox.
I've enjoyed the few Scalzi books I've read so far and this one sounds interesting.

Another solid book by Scalzi. I recently read Unlocked (Lock In #0.5) and was intrigued by the world he created. Since I already had book 2 on my shelf and it really isn’t necessary to have read book 1 to read it, I jumped right in!
Book 2 is set several years after the Lock In pandemic occurred. FBI agent Chris Shane, one of the first Haden Lock In survivors to get a threep (a robot like body that the person controls remotely from their locked in body) body as a child, and his partner work to solve the murder of a Hilketa player. A sport created where threep players try to decapitate one player and deliver the head across the goal. Part capture the flag, part football, part arena, weapons melee fun until not only does the threep get decapitated but the remote driver/player dies too.

I'm claiming this from the To The Stars bookbox. I enjoyed Lock In, and am interested to see how things go in this one.
Later: Another enjoyable Scalzi book, with snarky banter, fun with the body-hopping element of being a Haden, corruption-in-sports sub-plots, and entertaining scenes with protagonist Chris' roommates - including the super-techno-hacker Tony, whose help seems to have become essential, and the twins-who-share-a-threep and who become besotted with Donut the cat (who's a key element in the plot and, fortunately, survives the story - always something I worry about when animals turn up!).
[There's a TV Tropes page on the "Lock In" books, with some entertaining tidbits.]
