WILD RELEASE NOTES:

Lavish is a good word to describe this story set concurrently during the French Revolution and in Imperial China. It is the story of an impossible love between an aristocrat’s daughter and his gardener. Viviane has lived in a chateau in Brittany for most of her life; a virtual prisoner in her home bound by the conventions of her time. David is a young Welshman with ideals of equality and a fascination with botany, who soon falls in love with Vivianne. This is the beginning of a new time in France and the aristocratic ruling classes are in grave danger. A spellbinding story, deeply evocative with sensuous detail. Released in my street library for someone else to enjoy during lockdown.
