Got this as a surprise RABCK. How sweet!! It's been on my wishlist a long time. :)
This is a children's book, but of course, I was reading it as an adult. And not just any adult, but one who worked in domestic violence shelters for years. I think the author did a great job of presenting a difficult situation to her target audience of 10-12-year-olds, but it's hard for me to decide what I would have thought of this book if I'd read it as a child. One thing is for sure: the opening scene is POWERFUL.
