Journal Entry 3 by BookCemetery on Wednesday, October 12, 2005
The ashes of this much loved Reading Companion, in company with journal/1622423, arrived at the Book Cemetery today (Wednesday 12 October 2005). It has been some time since the two companions were destroyed, and we can but imagine the anguish experienced by the Chief Mourner until such times as sufficient strength of purpose returned, and allowed the foul deed to be reported. Unfortunately the trail was cold, and notwithstanding the best efforts of the Investigative Team, no blame can be laid at any door. A very well attended Memorial Service was held in the Chapel of Sighs, and the memory of the two departed was released into the ether down by the Pool of Rememberance. A 21-gun salute, with flags lowered to half mast, created a feeling of such pain that there was not a dry eye in the congregation. The Choir, resplendent in full uniform, gave a heart-rending rendition of "Ave Maria" as the Chief Mourner unveiled a Memorial Plaque at the Wall of Rememberance, which reads, simply...

"His rash fierce blaze of riot cannot last,
For violent fires soon burn out themselves..."

Chief Mourner was Helly77 and she was an inspiration to all who attended, notwithstanding the fact that it was a dual ceremony and consequently the account was somewhat loaded. The Management and Staff of the Book Cemetery extend sincere condolences at this sad time.

The two departed...
