Picked this up in a charity shop for 50p as it looks like a book I would enjoy. It also fits into the reading around the world challenge.

I really enjoyed this book and read it within 36 hours, which is quick for me. I did not know much about the Artic and this book nicely complements the book on the Antartica I read last year. I particularly liked the bit where Alexander comments on knowing the accents of the person who taught someone to speak English and the accounts of posh foreigners speaking in a scouse accent were quite amusing!

Arrived in a surprise box from the poodlesisyer, many thanks indeed. Xx fear he might be going straight down to the neighbours after reading the preface - I'll give him a chance though!

I gave him a sustained and worthy chance however he was just too annoying. Snapped up by the neighbours though when I dropped it off on the hallway table yesterday!
